Jazz Ensembles
The Jazz Ensembles are groups that play jazz, standards, fusion and Latin music. There is currently one jazz ensemble at SBSMA.
Entrance to this group is limited and by teacher recommendation or audition. The ensemble performs at many venues, such as County Fairs, Santana Row, private parties, Art & Wine Festivals, Campbell's Big Bands & BBQ and most recently at the San Jose Summer Jazz Festival on stages of San Pedro Square, Gordon Biersch and Forager.
Instructor for all the Jazz Ensembles is Morry Goldstein.
Jazz Ensembles Personnel:
Ginga is a Jazz Ensemble formed in the 1998 Season. The word "ginga" is Brazilian for "swing". This is an adult ensemble that plays a mixture of jazz, standards, fusion and Latin.
Ginga members are:

Morris Goldstein - tenor sax, clarinet, Director
Greg Anderson - keyboard
Mark Arroyo - guitar
Greg Lindsay - drums

The band meets twice a month and is comprised of members from community, current students that are from the studio of the band's director, Morris Goldstein and alumni.
The Big Band plays a variety of music ranging from Swing, Standards, Latin and some Funk.
